| The Purpose of Operation G.L.O.B.E. _____________________________ 1. To equip and prepare church planting missionaries for the field. Starting a church from the ground up is without a doubt one of the most difficult tasks ever undertaken by man. Too many missionaries are finishing up their deputation and entering their mission fields with a limited amount of experience and knowledge. The mission field will test any man's determination and dedication to God's call on his life. Understanding the basics and having some practical preparation would help kick-start his endeavors and would very likely prevent some foolish mistakes along the way. It is our desire to build on a foundation that has already been laid by your home church, Bible college training, experiences in the ministry and your mission board's orientation efforts. You can never be too prepared for the mission field! 2. To display a model of integrity in missions and create a desire for an effective ministry. Unfortunately, the ministry is strewn with disgraceful characters, the area of missions also. Many missionaries simply do not have the character or the capability to be on a mission field, trying to start a church. Our goal is to stress the importance of character, accountability and the need to be "worthy of your hire" as far as a missionary is concerned. 3. To instill soberness and dedication for the task of church planting. The business of church planting is God's business - therefore is a serious business. Understanding the seriousness of this matter, and equipping yourself to be the best church-planter possible is vital to success. 4. To prevent unnecessary mistakes and thereby preventing unnecessary frustration. There's nothing as frustrating as trying to accomplish something without the proper knowledge and tools. Mission work is not only a physical labor, but it is a spiritual labor. Satan will work overtime to assure failure; therefore, you must be as informed as possible in order to be successful. Gleaning from experienced, veteran missionaries will prove invaluable once you get on the field. Click here to read what some of the missionaries that attended |
